Should there be intervention into Darfur???? Is it too outlandish to say that the people of Darfur can defend theirselves against the Sudanese government? Why should we depend on the US military to make peace in Sudan, when its absolutely destroyed Iraq? In my opinion, imperialist governments only intervene in foriegn conflicts if they have economic or strategic interest at stake. Who's side would they take in the conflict? Why should we push a imperialist military to intervene in a foreign conflict when in reality they wont alleiviate the situation, but just exacerbate it?

Not only should we go to Darfur, but we should be willing to overthrow the entire Sudanese Islamic Republic, assasinate their fuhrer, and waste any Al-Qaida members supporting it. Let's not forget that Osama Bin Landen used Sudan as his headquarters in the early-1990's and vowed to kill any troops that US or foreign troops who overthrew Khartoum. So I say Death to the Janjaweed and Al-Qaida!!

look at history and US attempts to alleviate conflict in third worlds. we have to be careful in trying to intervene in these conflicts, because sometimes, everybody loses

unless there is a certain kind of interest, Bush is not taking us in there. people cry "oh we are helping the iraqis", but no one cares that thousands of people have been displaced from their homes because of this genocide.

it will be 10 years later when there is a movie on the situation that people will care.

Remember what happened the last time the US tried to intervene in a African nations political affairs? Somolia was a disaster that would have been even worse than Iraq.

Well you make some good points and I have some but not total agreement. At the end of the day some things we can change and some we can't. Work for change and keep your own side of the street clean. Blessings!
