i'd rather drown because at a certain point your body just shuts down and you don't feel anything, and the thought of not being able to breath freaks me out.

Appearently drowning is pretty peaceful, but I am scared to death by the idea of breathing water so I am going to have to go with freezing death, thats got to be pretty peaceful too right? You just basically fall asleep.
How about drowning is freezing cold ice water; both :-)

Freeze, I once heard that if the temperature is just right you can fall asleep and parish that way or in very rare cases the body goes into a state of hibernation and you can survive. I know it's a long shot but I'd rather go that way then have to feel all the pain associated with drowning.

I wouldn't!!! Remember when the Titanic sunk, people did both at the same time, though I think they mostly froze before they drown. I think with freezing you lose consciousness before dying to the point where you stop feeling the cold. With drowning, you're probably very aware what's happening and the fear would be harder to take.

Freeze to death. By the time it hits a certain temperature you won't feel a thing and just shut down.

Freeze to death, you would get sleepy and lose feeling before you died. Drowning is just too dramatic and scary.
