give your dog a little tomato juice once every 2 weeks, it's the cheapest and easyest way to solve this problem. It worked for my old englich sheepdog, I was having the same problem, and I heard this one from a vet...

Trust me, I have tried every product on the market for over the last decade and nothing works as advertised, save your money. I trained the dogs to use a specific area to do their business (sand/rock bed). And if one just cannot hold it and has to urinate on the grass, I mark the spot with nearest leave, rock, etc and retrieve the watering can to dilute the urine...works like a champ. Now if I can figure out how to keep neighbors from having their dogs from peeing on my lawn, all my lawn yellowing issues would be resolved.

Judy B (no relation!!) has the right idea!! This definitely is the best first step. My three dogs know just where they can "go" in the yard!!
Only the urine from female dogs will turn your lawn brown. Urine from male dogs will leave VERY green spots!!
Next, sprinkle Cayenne Pepper on the areas of lawn that your dog is using. This will mildly irritate their noses and they will not come back. You may have to repeat after rain. Sprinkle each new area that you see. It WILL work!!
Good Luck!!

If you are really anal about your lawn then train the dog to do his business in another spot.
Build a small 3ft x3ft (or 4x4 if large dog) "toilet " area for your dog in an out of the way part of the yard. Remove the grass and lay in about 4" of fine stone dust and compact it.
Then for the next two to three weeks, allow your dog out in the yard only on leash and keep some doggie treats in your pocket. Take the dog to the 'toilet' and encourge him to go. When he goes, praise him and give him a treat. If the dog attempts to go elsewhere, immediately say NO and take him to the toilet area. If he goes there, praise again. The dog will soon get the idea. You will need to clean the area daily.

There are a couple things you can try. 1) There is a treat/medicine that they can eat from the pet store that helps prevent their urine from yellowing the grass 2) There is a spray that attracks dogs to whatever area of the lawn you want them to do their business in. Obviously not guaranteed, but worth a shot.

There are many products sold at PetSmart that you actually give your dog. Depending on his weight, It'll take 2 to 3 of these pills a day. If you plan on having company and need the grass green fast, they even sell a spray that will paint your lawn green again. Take you and your companion on a liitle road trip and check it out. They even have buiscuits with the same active ingredient. Good luck.

Teach your dog to do its business away from the lawn. It takes a while and a lot of perseverance, but it does pay off in the end.

There is nothing you can treat your lawn with or feed your dog to stop it. The best way is to train your dog to use a certain area.
