I heard that it's confusing for people who haven't played the game before and I'm also very easily confused by movies.Try to not give me any spoilers though.

Well, if you're "easily confused" by movies, then Silent Hill could possibly blow your mind. I'm a gamer and I have all of the Silent Hill games. As much as I love them, they can be really hard to follow and you have to pay attention to every little detail in order to get the most out of it. I disagree with one of the posters who said the characters are from Silent Hill 2, because they are taken directly from Silent Hill 1. The only difference is the main character is the movie is a woman looking for her daughter instead of a man looking for her daughter. IMO, the best game-to-movie adaptation so far, and the third game is the best.

You can watch the movie without playing the game. The only thing you'll get from playing the game and watching the movie is that you see characters in the movie that were from the game. Either way, I think you'll still be confused. It's an ok movie. Better than other movies based on games. But if you're a gamer, you have to play Silent Hill 2. It's a great game, which is mostly what the movie is based off of.
