No, you don't want to cut them all the way back. Just cut and remove the spent flower stalk as far down as you can go, just above the foliage. Leave the green leaves, as the bulb will draw nutrients from them to store up needed energy for next years flowers.. If you think that they are unsightly while drying up, you can take them and gently fold them down to ground level and then put a rubber band around them to keep them nice and neat in appearance. This way they will only be 4 or 5 inches tall. When the leaves dry up and turn brown, you can cut them off at ground level. Hope this answers your question. Good Luck!

Cut them back. The bulbs will regrow the next year (at least they winter fine in NC, where I live) and the dead foliage detracts from your garden.
