How do I get connected to wirelwss net work in my apartment where free WIFI network is available?

I have a laptop with wifi facility and in my apartment now wifi is available to all. Now how do i set my laptop to get connected to internet through this network. I can see the network available when I enable WIFI but Iam not able toget through to the internet. What setting I need to do in my computer

Simple. Just open the Microsoft Wireless Windows then click Connect.

To Open:

Start-->Connect To or Connection--> Click the icon that has wireless thing on it.

sweet deal for you. right click on the wireless network connection icon, click on view available wireless networks, select the network and click the button below that says connect.
This is assuming that you do not have 3rd party software running your wireless connection. I know for instance Dell laptops all have Dell software that runs the wireless connection instead of windows doing it. Which I think is stupid but oh well. You can change this but you can use their software also you will just have to look for it.

If the wifi is run under a secure network, you will have to contact the Apartment Manager and ask him the password.

mske sure the security (WEP/WPA) isn;t enabled on the router. make sure your lan card is configured to use DHCP. Then double-click on the network when windows or your wifi car find the wifi signal
