Also, my graphics seem to look horrible. The words on the screen are fine, but pictures look terrible. Real fuzzy and grainy. Does anyone know how to fix that, too?

Sounds like you are having a good time.

Here is a short rundown you can try, a more detailed check list for trouble shooting Audio problems on my web site.

The question is: Do you have a sound card installed in the computer? If the hardware is installed and the volume control doesn't display in the tray then there is a problem with the hardware or the driver.

You need to find the driver, with the sound card name and make you can search the internet for a driver to install.

Video:
Go to start, open control panel, open Dispay Properties, there you can change the settings, I would suggest 1024 x 768 to start with.

Hope this helps......

things to check and steps to fix

first logon with an account with administrator rights

goto start, then control panel
first open up the sound icon if it shows there is no audio device and you are unable to select one then close the window
still in control panel open the system icon, then click on the hardware tab, then device manager. click on the sound, video and game controller line to expand it...
if this shows your sound card right click on it and then on proporties... if it is there and shows there are no conflicts then here is your fix

again in control panel click on administrative tools, now click on servies.
in the window that pops up scroll down until you find "windows audio"
if it shows disabled just set it to automatic
upon doing so your sound should be backl

hope that helps

Try a system recovery, especially if the computer isn't that new, or is crowded with junk. Also, you may have to reinstall drivers for the hardware on your computer ie: Sound Card, Video Card

go to your control panel, then to sounds and devices and go to audio, and check to make sure your settings are correct, look at sound playback and make sure the correct soundcard is selected and then click advanced and select your speaker setup.
