Many company's use outside payroll services, and it's cheaper to direct deposit than it is to cut checks, plus you have your money faster in terms of being able to write checks from your account, without having to first, make a deposit. It is made for you, with this practice.

The only people that I have found to dislike this procedure, usually have something to hide, like income !

Direct deposit is a win-win situation. It's cheaper for the company and the money appears in your account as available funds (no hold until it clears) and no effort to deposit it, even if you're sick or on vacation, and nobody has to worry about lost checks. Why wouldn't you want it?

The question should be: is it lawful for you to demand a paper check? I don't think you have that right, but you do have the right to not work there if you don't like their policies.
