If anyone was injured in the crash (even you) then it is automatically a felony, which would mean jail time. If it was only property damage, you are responsible for paying for the damage, as well as a fine for the DUI and possibly getting your license revoked or suspended.

Not really weird as he could be a potential flight case (if the hit and run was of a person). Really just admitting to guilt is best as it could lesson the charges, otherwise it's a double strike and the fact your friend has a DUI paired with that hit and run will not do well for his defense.

It depends on a lot of factors. Was this a first offense DUI, or not? Were there injuries? Did you try to run from the cops? Punishments vary from state to state, but at the very least you're looking at a loss of license, a hefty fine and a nice fat car insurance surcharge...plus possible jail time and court costs and attorney's fees if you're trying to fight it or get the sentence reduced.

If your a "Hollywood" Starlet no sweat ! If you're a common everyday citizen you have a real problem. If there was any injuries to you or the other party it's an automatic "Felony" do you have priors for driving under the influence? if so, shame on you. in fact shame on you for driving under the influence in the first place! then to run from the scene? That's really an incredible stupid thing to do under any circumstances.

You'd better get a good criminal attorney, you're going to need one!

Hopefully, jail time. Cold-blooded drunk drivers deserve no mercy whatsoever.
