I don't have admin privledges on my computer its using Windows Vista Home Premium. Do I need to install anything to use a webcam?

I have Vista as well & my webcam isn't compatible. Worked fine on my old XP machine. But yes, you need to install the software that came with the camera in order for it to function.

You would have received the webcam drivers and you need to install them if the webcam is not automatically detected by the computer.
