Well, if you're going to ask a silly question, then I'll answer and get my two points.

Yes, it's "ok" to give homeless people beer, but why not food or clothing instead?

Yes, but on a cold night they might prefer a liquor. If you got food, even better. Whatever you can contribute.

I don't think a lot of people realize that those that are homeless were once Vietnam Vets or have a severe case of Mental Illness.

Sure. There are a lot of calories in beer.
And beer is made of grain, like the kind that horses eat. You have never seen a homeless horse, have you?

If I was homeless, I'd sure want a beer.

homelessness happens to good and normal people. at that point most of them would appreictae anything. they might be more appreciative of the $10 to get a more filling big mac. is it ok? i dont see why not its your way of helping them out.

Those guys with the roadside signs? I saw one guy who laid it on the line, his sign said:
"Why Lie? Need Beer"
People were stopping right and left to give him money

Why not. They drink it to feel warm and to help the time go quicker. It may be better to give them a small amount of money though, so they can by food or what ever they want/need.

Well....it is probably not the right thing to give them...they probably need food more than beer!
