You don't say what he was using the money for. Investing? Buying you a nice gift? Paying off other bills?
Can't say if you should be hurt without knowing why he didn't offer any.

Well I would be hurt if it was the case that he got the money and didnt share with me cause he paid all the bills, but if he just kept it to himself then yes I would be too. It shouldnt matter about your b-day, just that fact that in a marriage you should'nt keep anything from one another..... Even money.

well did he buy you something nice for your birthday? or took you out to dinner? if he didnt do any of those things then i understand your pain and you should feel hurt if you know that he's not saving it for anything special or has payments pending then ask him what are his plans with that extra 3000 dollars does he always share his money ?

well, do you guys have a lot of debt or bills to pay? and does he bring in the main income? if that's the case then you shouldn't be too upset... but if that's not the case then I'll be kinda wondering how come he doesn't include me in it?

If you are married then everything is supposed to belong to both of you. There shouldn't be any "yours" and "mine" other than clothing and toiletries. He shouldn't have to offer you any of the money because it belongs to you too.

Why bother being married if you are going to have seperate finances? My husband and I share our money. Everything is ours, not just his or not just mine.
