Goth industrial bands tend to rock a bit more with all the classic hallmarks of industrial music and guitar. A Goth band can cover the full spectrum with some being very quiet and gentle.

Overall the difference is really the style, personality, and musical taste. As a goth, I tend to wear corsets, victorian style skirts, and black pants. For makeup, I typically wear some black eye shadow and black eye liner and maybe wine red lipstick. I do not wear white foundation, because that looks horrible and I am naturally pale. As far as a gothic personality, it differs from person to person. To me it is simply finding things beautiful that most people would not, seeing the world for what it really is, being yourself and not caring what others may think. I could go on an on about the personality thing, but I doubt anyone here would like to read a book length post. As far as music goes, I listen to: Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, Sex Gang Children, Southern Death Cult, Bauhaus, The Cure, Clan of Xymox, etc... Bands like Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails are NOT gothic bands. I see nothing wrong with listening to them, but it bugs me that people think all goths love Marilyn Manson, Also, The Cure is NOT an Emo band!
