Look to my other details in the same question. The house was right next to a golf course with the grass from the course connecting to the homeowners and their was no fence. You are idiots who respond like wise peeps. What if we came from the golf course grass onto the homeowners grass when we damaged it?

Yes, you can be liable to the other party under three theories: (1) negligence, (2) trespass to land, and maybe (3) trespass to chattel.

I don't know the legal answer to this, but I think if you did not know the homeowner's property boundry, the home owner should show some decency and not claim damages. On your part, a sincere apology should be enough.

You already posted this question and included other facts that were very important in getting the correct answer. In your other question, you said you saw sprinklers at someone's home and decided to drive through them. Now you want to say you didn't know it was on their property?

When you do stupid things, expect to pay for the damage you caused.

And read the TOS and community guidelines. You can lose your account for posting the same question over and over.

It's not illegal living next to a golf course, or not having a fence. You break something you pay for it.

If you willingly did so without any fence or markings you might as well get your wallet ready. Today you can be sued for just looking for at someone the wrong way.
