Saw a Chilean surrealist film last week. Not a good film but an interesting visual experience. Holy Mountain. Enough weird ideas in it for ten thousand music videos.

Umm I think Seventh Seal was experimental at the time thats the only good one I've seen.

I'll second ninebadthings reply, try out The Holy Mountain. Its VERY surreal, but beautifully shot.
