They quit asking what they did wrong. They quit giving a damn who called on the phone. They quit staying up late going over the photo's. They just give up trying to save the hopeless mess, and admit, it was a two way street. Then it calms down, no movement for a while, and then they see something, or somebody, which raises their spirits, and then if they are lucky, somebody makes love to them and the world shines again. takes a while.

The final step in the grieving process is acceptance. Until that step is reached there is no sign of stability that is reliable. There are signs that someone is getting better and then they lock themselves into the washroom to cry within a five minute period.

Once the grieving process has entered acceptance the sign that I find the most promising is when they are able to get excited about something again, whether it's about a trip, a new job, a vacation or a movie. The ability to be excited again means that your emotions can be placed into something other than mourning. You have gotten on with your life and one day you woke up and it just felt great cause they are back to themselves.

sleeping at night eating more and going out and enjoying yourself. Wanting to go out and be around other people. These are all signs that your healing. But the biggest healing sign is laughing again at yourself.

1. They quit walking around with red, puffy eyes.
2. They don't continually talk about what was or ask pitifully how he/she could do this to him/her.
3. They take a real interest, again, in what's going on around them.
4. They smile, they laugh...and they are learning how to be happy again.

i think before the healing, or getting over it, they'll probably be less chatty and ignore you.
after healing however, they start being more friendly and chatty.
