i know it need to be a wireless router but someone said i need to buy some kind of card is this mandatory

it is the one in the walmart add for 398 bucks if that helps. It just says Acer laptop computer intel celeron processor, 512 mb ddr2 system mememory, 80 gb hard drive, reads dvds, and writes cds, genuine windows vista home basic.

Your laptop needs to have a wireless card to access the wireless router. Anymore, most notebooks come standard with a wireless card. Be sure the notebook you get has a wireless card listed in the specifications.

Most new laptops have the wireless card "built in".....
Better find out before you buy a wireless card !

Also, if it allows connection of an external mouse, you may want to look into that.
