Regular exersize actually helps this too...it tightens the skin.
Womens Fitness has a cool article about exersize and medical treatments for stretch marks.

Other than that, shea butter and vitamin E massaged GENEROUSLY after EVERY shower really helps faden up the marks. A caribbean remedy is bathing in tea and buttering up with Shea Butter (not "Shea Butter lotion or cream-but hardened in its natural form) before bed lets it penetrate your skin while you sleep when the skins elasticity is not being overworked. Hey it works for my mom and her sisters cuz they don't have an once of stretch marks and only very faded veins on their legs.

Doctors can also prescribe medicated creams if the marks are very dark and appear deep-which may indicate scarring.
Tea, Shea Butter, Exersize routine and doctor procedure if necessary. Good Luck!

I believe there are creams that will help reduce stretch marks, but the traditional treatment is to use cocoa butter.

Cocoa or shea butter can help. Also I think vitamin E cream because it helps to get rid of scars.
