Check with the ice cream parlors. Seriously, that was my first job and I was 14 when I worked it. It was a really awesome experience!

Well I think it might be more acceptable for 14 year olds to get a proper job in Australia...? Because I was already working at 14.
But before that I used to hold a DOG WASH!
(However this should only be done if you are very confident with animals, dogs especially.)
Me and my sister would post flyers in our neighbour's mailboxes, informing them of the date and time of the dog wash and our street address. We'd also put what we were trying to raise money for (I remember one year it was a bicycle) so the neighbours would be more willing to help out.
We'd usually hold it on a Sunday between 1pm-4pm, so people could walk their dogs over, sit and have a cool drink, and we'd usually charge AU$10.
We would set up the front lawn with an old baby bath, a hose, dog shampoo, a jug, doggie nail clippers, doggie treats, lots of old towels and chairs for the owners to sit and wait as well as a table with drinks and cups.
One girl would shampoo them in the bath with the jug then and rinse the dogs with the hose, and the other girl would dry the dog and clip its nails.
Remember not to waste water, and empty the baby bath after every 2 or 3 dogs onto the garden or the lawn.
We usually made a lot of money! It was also very safe as we would only advertise to people we knew from around the neighbourhood.
It's worth a try, otherwise there's always babysitting (only if you are responsible and mature enough) or trying for a job at a fast food chain.
Good luck!

You have to start earlier to line up those kind of jobs.
Before school is out for the summer, start checking.
You can still be self-employed, but it's harder work.
Try baby-sitting, could be watching kids at the park.
Try dog-walking, owners need help in hot weather.
Try car-washing, dusty weather car-wash line-ups.
Mowing grass, pulling weeds, watering plants, etc.
A lot of people go away in the summer.
Just be careful how you advertise;-{
better to ask your parents friends.
If you put up flyers, in laundromats & supermarkets,
don't show your age or gender.
Just list services offerred, & home phone number.
Never give your address either.
They'll know where from flyer location.

Well I know that a lot Mc Donalds hire 14 year olds, you could work at a local coffee shop or do non tax paying jobs like cleaning houses or gardening and of course baby sitting (especially for rich people) ;-)

Try some restraunts, they may be able to hire bus girls. You'll have to double check with them though. You could babysit considering that makes awesome money. Maybe hold a neighborhood car wash or a lemonade stand. I know its so 9 years ago but still. It's cash.
Good luck.

Zaxby's will hire you if you show them you have a lot of potential.
You can also get money by taking those surveys at the mall.
I got $20 for answering these questions about women's products.

When I was 14, I went to a temp agency and they got me a job in a hardware store (it was like a Home Depot type place) as a stock boy. You can try that.

I made a lot of money babysitting in my early teen years. Also try the laundry mat or fruit market.
