Why do you want to be an actress? Fame? $$? self-Enlightenment?
Actors are very poorly paid. An actor's "job" is to look for work. The gig is just icing on the cake. To act professionally is to face myriad frustrations, and Zero cash. We wait tables, we sell tires, we HOPE...........and we try to eat.
The Business is merciless. If You Ain't Got It, You Go Home.
No Do-overs. Coaching and/or Training dont mean Jack.
Do you have what it takes, even though the rules are ever-shifting? Do you have the Fire in the Belly?
If not, stick with Community Theatre.
If so, Cider will be proud of you.
Go Get'em

There is a difference between an acting "school" scam like JRP and a legitimate time of training in an academic atmosphere. I would recommend that you do as much theater as you can right now (both in school and community theater) in order to widen your experience (and beef up that resume!). Attending a university and majoring in theater or performance isn't mandatory for success, but it doesn't hurt, either. For now, work all the theater, choirs, and voice lessons you can, and when you are faced with a crossroads, you will have a better direction on which direction is best for you to go.

Hon, if you to an audition, the agent and casting director will know you DO NOT KNOW HOW TO ACT and have never had training, nor, are you familiar with any acting process.
You will only embarass yourself. You will make yourself look very bad.
Talent Agents and Casting Directors are professionals, as soon as an actor opens his/her mouth they know if the person can or cannot act. If you want to embarss yourself in front of a casting director or agent, go ahead.
Call the community colleges where you live and ask for suggestions on where you can take acting classes.

I used to do "extra" work in movies. I was an extra in one of those "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" movies and some other older movies. I have seen people get speaking parts from just being lucky. My friend Tim was an extra in "Rumblefish" and he got a speaking part. He didnt get named in the credits. My point is just go to the audition and take a chance. They may be looking for some quality that separates you from the others. Wanting to be an actress is your best quality right now, so, go for it.

Everyone who does anything for a living that requires skill has had training and has had to practice. I know you are a kid but do you don't get anything. You can't just go to auditions. You can't just act well enough to do it professionally. Persue another interest. This is not for you.

You don't necessarily have to go to an acting school, an Arts school is just as good. I recomend not going to an audition first because if you don't have any connections you might as well not try out. You should have previous acting expeirience, they probably ask you if you have.
