I've observed that the people who give rude, insulting answers are the ones with the angry-faced avatars, & the ones who give nice answers are the ones with the straight or happy face.

I choose mine based on my looks. I am not as thin and young as my avatar but we have a similar hair style and color.

I have changed mine more times than I can remember but I never use the angry expression. I prefer the default expression
I think you are on to something angry avatars do tend to say angry things. I have seen some people called "trolls" use the big smile or crooked grin look.
