I consider myself a Christian and there are quite a few Christian fanatics that scare even me. I answer questions if people ask and yeah, I read my Bible at work in the mornings for a few minutes, but I don't tell other people to believe what I believe. I sure have met a few...crazy ones... :)

I met a really scary religious fanatic once. I was about 11 and I was in a local laundrymat doing chores for my mom when this woman came in and asked me did I go to church and when I told her yes she started SCREAMING at me that I was gonna burn in hell because I didn't go to her church and only members of her church were going to heaven. I tried to get past her to the door and she hit me in the head with the bible she was carrying. Thank goodness another lady came in and made her leave because I was scared senseless. It made me fear going to church for years after that but thankfully I got over it.

Oh yeah,
*My (ex) wife's family is like that.
**Immigrant Russian/Ukrainian fundamentalists.
**These people exhibit absolutely everything which the general population perceives as what is wrong with Christians in the world. They:
**Jump up and down about how America is evil.
**They constantly go on about how Americans are all going to h3ll if they don't repent and go to a fundamentalist church.
***Pilfer relief shipments to their own country.
***Advocate violence against the homosexual community.
***Harbor deep-seated bigotry against Jews, and ethnic minorities.
***Are VERY judgmental towards anyone who is "outed" as having conducted themselves as a non Christian.
***Lie about just about everything to almost everyone (including their pastors).
**A substantial number of the female teens in this community tell their parents that they are going to a late night church service, and hang out with older guys (in their 20's) at all-night parties, instead (or so the guys and gals tell me ...).
**When my marriage was failing, (my [ex] wife had left the kids and me ...) they all said that this was a matter between a "man and a woman" and that religion had nothing to do with it.
**They lied about my (ex) wife's affairs (I'd already known about them, I just wanted them to pray for her and our children ...).
*Their fundamentalist Christian American sponsors were just as bad:
***Looking at me and treating me as if I were dirt in my own home, even though I had invited them over for a get together after my (ex)wife and I had been married for a few months.
***Giving me hard, nasty looks, and refusing to greet me at the memorial services of my mother-in-law and sister-in-law as they passed by me as I consoled my daughter.
God really does open our eyes to happiness and opportunity, I honestly believe this.
*So many fundamentalists really ARE good people, who work hard, care about their families, their Faith, and their country.
*As a Christian (Presbyterian), all I can do about the hypocritical fanatics of ALL religions is to pray that God will open their eyes to His bounty and allow Him to, once again, guide them back into true Faith.
