If you've ever seen the film called "Man on fire" Denzel Washington - does it remind you of the McCann case at all?

It's a possibility though isn't it.

Brilliant film.....one of my favourites actually.
At first I couldn't see the connection you were making, but then I realised you must have been talking of how the father of the kidnapped girl had agreed to her being taken without the wifes knowledge.
I wouldn't go as far as to say that's what's happened in the McCann case, but as the film is based on a true event....then anythings possible I guess.
That would just be too awful for words.

Don't know the film, but there was a Sherlock Holmes story where the kidnapped child was with the nanny all the time.

I get where you are coming from. Since it was the little girl's father who arranged for her to be kidnapped but, it all went wrong. Good movie and I see the similarity.

OMG I just watched it on BBC1 and I was thinking about the McCanns too! Could it have been a planned kidnapping gone bad? (Unlikely, but hey you never know). People do act out these movie scenes in real life.

No not at all,"Man of fire" was about a conscientious man of good stature and of a caring attitude, who would put his life in danger for the safety of others,A loving and caring mother who would do anything for her child,,,,,,But you do have a point though as the father was a complete ****
