In our nation, all citizens have the right to have their voice heard. It is sad if any American has his/her voice silenced for "fear of offended others."

1. Your percentage is completely incorrect (75-80? Please, the immigrant population is increasing immensely and we're already a checkerboard of various races. Don't think you're the largest just because you're called the "majority")

2. There is no such thing as white culture. There is American culture and European culture. Culture is not racial, but geographical. There is a Mexican culture, but that's not because they're darker than we are.

3. No one God is seen as any more important than any other. You can talk about your God all you want (Jesus, our President does it all the time and he's as much "State" as any other one person). Other Gods are not seen as more tolerable than your own.

4. None of the buildings have the Ten Commandments on them. That's illegal, and you already named the reason why. We are not a country founded on Christianity. Many of the peoples who first lived in the colonies were Pagan. The dollar bill says "In God we Trust" not "In The Christian God we Trust." If there is a God, the likelihood is there is only one and the founding fathers didn't make it clear which was the "real one."

You misunderstand the issue.

It's not a matter of promoting the minority ABOVE the majority. It's a matter of NOT promoting the majority above the minority.

Let's look at your examples.

Promoting white culture -- whether its European in general or specific to one country or Caucasian ethnic group -- is fine. It's called pride in your heritage. But doing so by saying that one race is BETTER than another, or SUPERIOR to another -- that's racist.

Promoting Christians right to practice their religion is good. Saying that Christianity deserves special treatment, or that Christianity is allowed to do things other religion cannot -- that is discriminatory and unconstitutional.

Case in point -- a Christian group protested the offering of a Hindu prayer at the opening of the Senate. That group believed that only Christian prayers should be said, because Christianity is better (or more correct) than any other religion.

The idea of true equality is that no group gets special treatment. No group (religion or race) gets singled out for punishment or persecution, and no group (even if they are the majority) gets to do things that the others cannot.

The liberal idea of diversity and tolerance says that all races and all religions have equal claim to validity, and equal rights under the law.

It's not persecution to prevent the majority from overpowering the minority. It is persecution to allow ANY one group to have advantages that are denied to all the others.

There has never been such an ideology from liberal thinkers to do what you say. "They" have never promoted the minority above the majority. There is no such thing as "white culture"--and the Christian God is the same God of Jewish & Islamic peoples (as well as all peoples, don't you think?!?)
