I need a few questions answered ...?

I just started my period yesterday and I need to know a few things.

1. I just started yesterday, it's my first time. How long will it take for me to finish?

2. Is it normal for all the stuff to come out and be red and gooey or like brown? (Ew)

Yeah, I'd appreciate it if someone could answer these!

Congrats, welcome to woman hood.

1. Normall for the first few years you might be a 7 day person, that's the way i was. And it could be heavy. The older you get the lighter and shorter it should get.

2. For like the first 2 days, it will be brighter than the others and a lot heaver. Keep extra pads on just in case. I like to wear those little booty shorts over my panties that way in case i start to leak it doesn't get to my pants as fast. And towards the last few days of your period it will be light pink or even brown. All what you are experiencing is completely normal and you have nothing to worry about.

1. Everyone is different - sometimes just 2-3 days and other times 7 days. Any heavy bleeding (like you are soaking a pad every hour or so is not usual) - any bleeding that goes for over 7-10 days needs to be checked out.

2. Yep, brown, red, mucously gooey stuff is normal. It also has a funny smell to it (not bad smell) just funny.

3-6 days, I would guess. It really depends on the girl. You may not get it right away next month though; sometimes, after you get it the first time, it takes a while before it starts up again. My mother told me that when I first started, and it turned out she was right.

And yes, red and brown coloring, and a gooey texture is completely normal, even when it isn't your first time.

Every womans period is a little different. Mine can be different month to month. Sometimes I'll have it for a week, sometimes 10 days, and when I'm lucky as few as 4. It's normal for the blood to be red or brown. It usually gets brownish towards the end of your cycle. Have a happy period!

1. Every girl is different....a period can range from 2 days to 7 days.....when i first got mine, mine lasted a whole 7 looooong days. now that i am a lot older it only lasts 3 or 4 days. so you will just have to wait it out and see....hopefully you are one of the luckier ones who have a shorter period :-)

2. yes it is normal for it to be red and gooey and browinish. you may get blood clots which are way gross and kinda scary looking but its normal. usually the blood that comes out on your pad will be more of a reddish brown but really every girls blood is different and can range in colors.
