Left handed bass player playing a right bass?

I'm left handed i'm wondering if it's hard for a lefty to play right handed bass, or do they have an edge? I use my left hand for most things. I'm going to get a bass though I can't find a lefty one :(.

So why aren't righties using lefty basses?
