The world is neither. We assign goodness or badness to things we experience. For the Iraqis, a battle won is great, but for the U.S. that would be evil triumphing over good--bad, bad, bad. A tornado could wreck a town full of drug dealers and porno makers--would that be bad?

And so on.

The world is neither positive nor negative, it's neutral. No matter what people *feel*, the world cannot be tilted to one side.

For example, if you toss a coin 10 times, you might get 3 heads and 7 tails, but the *probability* of getting either one of them is still 50%. And mathematically, in the long run (let's say, if you toss it 1 billion times) the difference of number of heads and tails would be very small as a rate compared to the total times tossed.

If you apply that principle to the state of the world, it's the same thing. Obviously if you count all the negative things and positive things happened in history there might be a difference in the numbers. *But considering how many things have happened in history, and you will realize that comparing the difference between the total + and - things happened to the total things happened as a rate is infinatively small.* (Such as comparing 1 over 1 billion, mathematically, this number is considered 0).

This is why we always say that the probability of getting a head or a tail by tossing a coin is always 50%, even though if you only try few times and proved otherwise. (The principle is that when you try it infinately many times, it *will* be 50%).

The world is neither - the people IN IT however are a whole other story. And that would depend on the individual and their personality and what is going on in their life at the time you ask them. For example, I am normally an upbeat type of person, with some sarcastic times - but today, being as I have been at work for 13 1/2 hours already and will probably have to remain here for another 3 - today, at this point in time - I am very NEGATIVE! I'll be happy as a peach when I get to go home though!

In nature what good is positive? Negative is a very useful survival tool. It holds us back from taking unnecessary risks. The World is Society, and we invented being positive. The ratio of positive to negative is changing every day.

WE as a people make it as it is... negative OR positive...like if I choose to look at the universe as a very horrible or "hell" like place and can never find beauty in any circumstance...then IT WILL be a negative reality in your "space" so to speak I,myself CHOOSE to see the beauty and positive in any aspect....negative or not....do we not have the pleasure of seeing the heart that takes us as people out of the mind? It is all up to the individual........

i think the world is a mixture of both. there is so much violence and danger, but then there is so much beauty and peace. im not sure you could categorize it as one or the other, but accept it for what it is and make it the best, most positive place as you can...after all, you have to live in it.
