I want to snip the end of the vines on my pumpkin plants to stop them from going where I don't want them to grow in my garden. Will this make my plant die?

agreeing with bill, lots of experience here, the plant will waste alot of energy trying to repair itself, you could do it however, people who grow record pumpkins knock off all but a few so the plant only concentrates on huge, not many, you however will be most pleased to just gently guide it elsewhere

The vines are hollow and cutting them will probably result in disease and insect damage. If you took a whole vine off at the main stalk it would be better.
