I have anxiety disorder which sometimes border on panic attacks. I seem to get them more so when I am reading or studying, especially if I am at the library. I get these rushes of anxiety and sometimes feel that my mind is disconnecting with my body. In any case, why does this seem to happen when I am reading or studying? Anyone have any good tips on how to control anxiety attacks?

I get these alot, even when im out with my friends. They come on so quickly. This is my advice

1. go to a doc. try some anti-anxiety meds. they can help you. (xanax, is good but addicitng so you might want to try serax.)

if you dont like meds, then try the next two.

2. breath in through your nose and out through your mouth, repeat several times until the rushes pass.

3. try to put on some music and exercise, it works! calms me down greatly.

i wish you the best. good luck you may e-mail me if you need any further advice. i will try to help you if i can.

Maybe your mind is connecting to a bad expeirience you've had with reading or studdying without you knowing it. The subconcious is full of mystery. You might not even be able to remember anything, because it could have happened to you when you were verry young. In any case, try to think of a time that something happened to you when you were reading a novel or at the library or studying. It could have been caused by an embarasing moment or an incident that happened. Who knows maybe after that you can understand why it happens, and can find a solution on your own.

Hmmm I sometimes wonder that myself, though Im not in your exact situation. How do you know when you are in love? I know that I would be miserable without my girlfriend but It cant stop me from wondering if there is somebody out there who is better suited for me, more compatible. We have very different views on what is acceptable at parties, she thinks is cool to let people draw on her boobs! I dont know if thats the kind of person I want to be with. Many thoughts to sit and ponder.... Would I be happier with somebody else? Im 20 years old maybe I just need some more time to figure out what I really want.
