We armed Saddam from 1979 on, to fight Iran and then we take Saddam out, and the majority of Iraq is Shiite and the majority of Iran is Shiite, what did you think would happen when we removed Saddam? Iraq';s constitution says that the only true law is Islamic law (sharia), so we have created a government that is almost identical to Iran's.
Also, on an interesting note, We went in to overthrow Saddam's Bathist Sunni party for oppressing the poor Shiite Majority, and now its that same Shiite that have sided with Al-Qaeda and Iran to fight us, so now we are arming the Sunni's. it getting kinda difficult to keep track of all this.
And I believe Iraqi's are dying at an alarming rate since we invaded and bombed the SH** out of their country. we also used DU's (depleted uranium rounds). They are radiocative warhead tips and the Iraqi children play in the burned out radiocative tanks we left, and they are even pushed into the water supply that the Iraq's drink from. If that doesn't bother you, Those are the same areas our own troops patrol. SO..why do the conservatives want Iraqi's to die?

Basically Iraqis are dying right now, as we speak, while this insidious war is still raging in the heart of the middle east. The Lancet journal estimated earlier this year that 600,000 Iraqis have died ever since the March 2003 invasion. So its not just the liberals that could care less if Iraqis die, the conservatives could care less either.
On the main question on why the the liberals want the US to pull out. Who are you referring to when you say liberals? The politicians or the ordinary liberal citizen? If your question is directed towards politicians, then theres two points. First off, the Democrats do not want to "pull out" of Iraq. Majority of them want a redeployment, which means that some troops will come home, some troops will stay. And if it gets bad again in Iraq, then they'll send more troops in again. Now you may ask yourself, well why is it that they want to take some troops out? And that leads to my second point. The liberal politicians dont want a full blown pullout, but they want a change in direction of the way the war is going, specifically because the US is not winning. And this comes in the form of redeployment. Another thing is that, no one can predict that Iran will take over Iraq. If the US, the most powerful government with the strongest military on the face of the planet cant even conquer Iraq, what makes you think Iran will?

That's exactly what will happen.
Iran is slowly insinutating itself in the civil war now and when our troops are finally withdrawn (can't be too soon for me), Iran will slowly take the place over.
Iran has a standing army of 500,000 and a ready reserve of 300,000, 1500 or so tanks, an effective and well-armed airforce, battleships and plenty of armament (thanks to the U.S. and Russia).
They will enter Iraq with no restraints and take the place over. They will put someone in charge and put an Imam next to him....Then peace will come back to Iraq.
Iraq was an Islamic country before the war and they will be an Islamic country when we leave.
Our presence in that country makes no difference. We don't have enough troops available to stay there and fight the whole middle-east for the control of Iraq.
Bush's policy of invasion was illegal, ill planned and sloppily carried out. The only thing that has happened is thousands of dead Americans, tens of thousands of dead Iraqis, a country in ruins and overrun with terrorists groups. At least Iran will restore order, kick the thugs out and restore peace.

Why do you keep generalizing that liberals want to do this or have the US do that?
Are you openly IMPLYING that the 70% of ALL Americans who want OUT of this failed conflict are strictly liberals?
Thanks to Bush, Iran already HAS taken over Iraq! Who do you think Iran helps fund half the time and SUPPORTS in Lebanon and has TIES in Iraq?
Uh...let's see here...
THE SHIITES.
And WHO is running the failed Iraqi government?
Isn't Malaki a SHIITE?

As a person who is against this war I know that pulling out is death for the Iraqis and embarassment for the U.S. There are other solutions than withdrawing all troops, I hope there is a middle ground the U.S. can take in keeping Iraq safe and making sure Iran doesn't take over.

Iraq IS an Islamic state and any need for oil there could and should have been done with diplomacy. After all, Bush Sr. is friends with Sultan of SA and bin Laden family they let fly back to the ME right after 9/11.
Now the American people are being threatened by someone according to Chekov. Why bomb US when we basically are good natured people, work hard for what we have and are disappointed with lack of Border Security and double-talk.

Iran is pretty much a danger to us right now--so no, I do not think that liberals want the troops to come home so that Iran can take over. They want troops to come home because this war costs us dearly and it is going on without an end in sight. We had no right to invade Iraq to begin with, so it is best to pull out and save our soldiers' lives and save our money for other much needed projects such as education and health care....

Iraqi's are dying if you haven't noticed, for almost 5 years!! No one is going to allow Iran to attack Iraq. All of the UN would be on our side, and the Turks have about 25,000 soldiers on their border to Iraq!
Not going to happen unless the president in Iran is dumber than Bush!

er... you want a democracy in Iraq...right?
and do you know who lives in Iraq?
A LOT OF MUSLIMS!
so... they are going to elect Islamic leaders... which would mean it will be an Islamic state...
they talk about it on the news quite a bit... you may want to try watching it...
and why would Iran want to take over a state that's already an Islamic nation?
