i have a ten gallon tank and which already contains 1 male betta and 1 female...then i added another female today. The females are in their floating containers at the moment so the male can see them both but not harm them.

will the male breed with both the females? the first female is older and bigger and already spawned 2 times. the new one is smaller and a newbie...

Nope, one male and one female at the time.

You can breed you male to one and then within about 2 weeks of proper conditioning he will be ready to breed to the other.

I think he will choose the female he feels will give him the best young.
