I'm talking people. What's with all this white casual/sports clothing and baseball caps for men.Sports?Tracksuits?Have you seen the shape of the people?Stick thin from too many Amphetamines,or about 18 stone and 5' from too many McD's.
For the women, there is,of course, the everything in white too tight look.Omig those midriffs! Thats fat bellies to you youngsters. Why does the male have to walk down the street snarling at everyone it makes eye contact with? Most seem inarticulate, and only interested in the latest video game/ console.
When I was a teenager,I wore flares and a tanktop! I apologise for that unreservedly.
But I was a kid. I'm talking about adults with children of their own. They should be adults, but I think we've got a whole generation of kids bringing up kids. Frightens the life out of me.
But I could be doing a Victor Meldrew. What do you think?

I blame it on the fashion industry with all the clothes too tight or too revealing. I admit to a little padding around the waist these days but not from McDs, and I resent that you would find me inarticulate. Haven't played that many video games at all.
But then I'm 54 and American so I doubt you'd fancy me anyway.

I am 47 and i know what you mean Everyone seems to be clones of each other and there is little gracefulness, class or individuality amongst this generation. Not where i live anyway. When i was a teenager my parents did not allow me all the latest fashion as money was tight but i did have a fabulous pair of flares in red with embroidered flowers up the sides(i,m female by the way).I think young people today are to scared to be different and i admire anyone who is.As for the jelly bellies on young people who just let it all hang out(along with a thong sticking out of there jeans or worse,a builders bum....and I'm talking about the females)They just ain't got no style.

Unfortunately thats teh way our society has been allowed to grow. I was shoved in brown cord dungarees and yellow shirts as a child (YES even as a girl) and I had the most horrid tank tops and pudding bowl haircuts...

I absolutely cringe seeing these 11 year old girls dressing like prositutes - but it's what all these high street designers are putting out there for the parents to buy so they are a big part to blame for it. It's dreadful. As for the lads well tracksuits are the cheapest option and unfortunately they all look like chavs. ASBO's are a fashion accessory and Vicky Pollard seems to be the ideal look for the whole teen thing.

I don't think you're being a Victor Meldrew (To all yanks wondering who he is - go to youtube.com and look his name up and you'll see what we mean) I just think you're taking a good outside view of this cr@p society we live in.

I for one will never buy my son a tracksuit, and he doesn't own a single pair of trainers. He is dressed in classy gear from H&M which is really great for kids and doesn't end up with them look like tramps.

i totally agree with you on everything. we now live in a society where children are raising children and it,s very scary. the boy,s wear the latest branded sportswear, the girl,s are the same and their kids are dressed head to toe in designer gear. they think that this is parenthood. they don,t realise that it goes a wee bit further. maybe if they were to work and have some morals then they wouldn,t be raising a replica of themselves. the kids are wired to the moon because their diet consists of anything that can be thrown in an oven for half an hour or mcD,s or chips and cheese, how disgusting is that, no wonder we are turning into a nation of fatties, because we have an army of lazy parents bringing up the next generation. i think things have gone too far and the morals and family values from past years can never be recovered, and no i am not an old fart,i am a 38yr old mother of 3, not married, living with long-term partner and father of my children, but i will bring my children up to the best of my ability, and that means with morals and respect for others.

I'm in total agreement with you! I'm 60 (honest!) and it appears that the national costume of Britain is trackies & trainers, I was at a wedding recently and there was a male person there ( I hesitate to use the "man") wearing a grey suit that looked as though he'd slept in it, with a blue T-shirt & trainers, so nice to see he had taken the trouble to dress up for the occasion, but what did he think he looked like? I was only surprised that he wasn't wearing a baseball cap back-to-front!

Thank you for this question, I am 68yrs and I agree with you, Today I purchased a shirt, and next to me was a man in his late fifty's with a base ball cap on, ripped jeans buying a multi colour' big lettered splashed on tea shirt. Yes I have no right to judge other people, and to that I apologise, Do they think' they are still young. probably in their minds they are, but there shape and wrinkled faces do not go with dress, I think its the pressure from the Look Young media.

Hello, Victor................ I'm 48 and I agree with what you say, but I concern myself only with what I wear, not how unattractive all those other people look........ I like the fact that there are so many people wearing ill-fitting, inappropriate clothing, as I look so much better.

I bet you've got a cardigan, haven't you?!

I'm 49 and three quarters so yes you are ancient from where I'm standing Chris. Actually mainly I sit nowadays - my knees arent what they used to be.

I totally agree with you. And why have they all got tattoos across the small of their backs? Do you think they realise that they are going to have to live with those marks for the rest of their lives?

I know what you mean - do you live near me ?

They are all wearing nasty sports gear often in horrible colours and the girls clothes never seem to fit - tops and trousers too short and so tight you can see their breakfast as my old Mum would say.
Meanwhile my kids get picked on because they don't "conform".

BTW. Whats wrong with being 51 ? ( My hubby wouldn't mind being 51 again !)
