I was given this doll as a gift about 13 years ago. She is in a red stocking, has a checkered hat and braided hair. She was in a plain white box - not sure what happened to the original box if there was one. I would like to sell her but have no idea of what her value is. I tried to find it on Precious Moments website but there was no picture, etc of her. Someone on one of the auction sites is selling her and start price is $19.99 but have no idea how high it will go.
Also, condition, her hair has started to disintegrate due to storing in warm area. Otherwise she is perfect. I wanted to have her original hair removed and a new wig put on but don't want to go through that expense if she is not worth much. Any doll collectors out there. Thanks.

The Precious Moments doll that you are referring to was number 4 in the stocking dolls line of dolls made by Precious Moments. Noel was issued in 1996 and was a limited edition doll that was limited to 50,000 dolls. It was only sold on QVC all though many of them were available at stores who purchased them from QVC. If you replace the hair, it will not be worth as much at all, with damaged hair, the value will definately be decreased. I've seen Web sites selling them for as little as $9.99 and as high as $109.99. The $109.99 was mint condition, with the box, and original hang tag. It would be significantly less in the condition you described. It's worth what someone is willing to pay. Post it on E-bay, in as is condition, and see what you get for it, if you don't want to keep it around.
