Yes they can; in most states you can't drink until you're 18 or 21. The parent can be charged with child endangerment and abuse. The child can be removed from the home by the state; the parent can be jailed and lose all parental privileges in addition to facing a fine. There have been cases where Young children have died due to alcohol poisoning as such the parent can also be charged with attempted murder if the child gets alcohol poisoning.

Yes. A parent does not have the right to give thier own child alcohol. In some states, it is considered child abuse and grounds to take the child away from the parent.

I realize everyone will hate that answer, but it's true. Just because you are a parent does NOT mean you can break the laws with regards to your own child.

Point is that consumption of alchohol my a minor is illegal...... period. The police can come down on it bigtime.

If it was europen style with the kids being responsible..... and having a bit with dinner that would be fine. But other than family about, noise being made?

The cops will so charge somebody as they do no want to be sued as they were remiss in taking some action. So smart people.... no problem. Having a kid just make a noise on the deck.... big problem.

In this day and age they can and will charge any adult about.

Depends on the particular state. In Nevada it comes under the heading of felony child neglect and the parents can not only be arrested, they can face prison time of over a year while the child is put into foster care.
Why so harsh? Because parents who think that giving alcoholic beverages to minors are guilty of acute onset of stupidity! They are masquerading as adults while remaining mentally in seventh grade.

Yes it is called contributing to the delinquency of a minor; Child Protective Services can also be involved as well as the Juvenile office. In some cases a parent can lose their job and black balled from the State or other govt. job for such an offense
