By realizing that fear is a prison.
And if you don't take courage, you will never escape it.

Fear or faith?

You get what you >choose<.

Would you rather risk dying trying, and braving the storm, braving the darkness, or die by just surrendering to the fear?

Fear is deception.
It holds and keeps us hostage.

And what you fear, you reverence as >greater<.
And give power to it.

Sometimes we gotta have a "do or die" attitude.

Would you rather risk dying trying?
Or by doing nothing at all?

Fear or faith?

ask me right now, i am not a brave person. i cannot see myself doing something brave, or even semi courageous, but maybe i've been brainwashed by all those swashbuckling hollywood blockbusters. maybe that's not what 'courage' is all about.

when the time comes to act, adrenaline will kick in. i know what it feels like in my lungs, i can hear it on my breath and in my voice. i don't have to muster, if i did, i don't think i'd be able to. the reflex of fight/flight takes over and gets me through the period you're asking about, when courage is needed. it seems so natural. words suddenly come out easier, more effectively. sight and vision really do hone in on everything. sweat... well never mind.

thank goodness the times i've had this happen are few and far between, but i recall the feeling vividly. i recall thinking that i had nothing to do with it voluntarily. and i recall feeling spent when it was over. and maybe that's what 'courage' is all about.

If it takes courage to make a decision, it also takes courage to not make a decision. Think about what it is you are facing. Will you be better off taking an action or taking no action. One thing to think about - you are the most important person in your life, not the other person, it is your kids or their kids. Always remember a problem will never go away, but it may get worse. So not having the courage to face a problem does not get you off the hook.

Sometimes I think that I wouldn't want to be remembered for my cowardice or reach a point in life asking myself "what if...", regretting not giving it a shot. Other times I think of brave characters in films, books or plays and pluck up courage from there. Or when all the other have failed, I just take a deep breath, close my eyes and take that terrifying step.xxx

Fear!
I had a company but no money, no clients...I was scared to talk to clients in case they said no...but I had bills to pay and I said to myself, what's worse, not paying bills or someone saying no.
I fought the courage by being scared and I actually talked to people and ended up getting more clients than I needed.

Fear is good to muster courage if you use it properly.

You pray and ask God for strength. Encourage yourself..you know it must be done. Think only of good, positive outcomes for your situation. Speak positve outcomes over your situation..take a deep breath,exhale..and go for it!

You just have to say to yourself, "It's got to be done" and then go for it. Cast out any thoughts of the outcome and give what ever the challenge is your very best...
