Go to Walmart and buy transparent shelf liner. It will do the job. I applied it to the inside of my computer Plexiglas side panels. The inside of my computer has a light inside and a design cut in the side panel. I didn't like the white light , so I applied the transparent shelf liner. The plastic looks frosted now and reduces the glare. Works great!

If you don't want to rent a sand-blaster, you might contact http://www.tapplastics.com/

They're the experts and they might have an adhesive sheet that will do the job. Go to the site and click on "Window Films." They have a frosted sheet available. It's probably designed for glass but possibly will adhere to plexiglass, too.

If all else fails, wait for Christmas time when the spray can frost goes on sale!

Hi, there are several products available in Britian for spraying onto plastic security windows to frost them. The hardware store should have a good selection. B&Q sell one in the craft section near the wall paper and paint ilse. They also sell a platic sheet which acts like frosting for bathroom windows. The glazer may be able to sell you patterned glass which you can hang infront of the window to give privacy.

As a professional picture framer we caution people who get things framed in plexiglass not to clean it with ammonia based products as it will fog over time.

I would experiment with some ammonia, and see what happens.
