During the Depression, there were many that also continued to do well. "The Economy" is just a moving average.

More people working than ever, maybe so, but if you add one job every month, you're not keeping up with population growth. The first few years of this administration showed net job losses, and even the unemployment numbers are skewed because if people remain unemployed for long enough, they just stop counting them.
Let's compare the "new" jobs to "old" jobs. Old jobs that went away - good paying, family supporting jobs with solid benefits, many in the manufacturing sector. New jobs that replaced them - low paying, low skill, no-benefit jobs in the service sector, producing NOTHING.
The unemployment rate is still higher than in the 90s, that means that, in addition to more people being employed, MANY more are also unemployed. Again, you can have both, since the population has grown.
Also, there's UNDERemployment. That's what I referred to in the first paragraph.
Objectively, in inflation adjusted dollars, there are many more poor people, and median (that is the mid-point of the population) income has gone down. Inflation is also higher than in the 90s, debt has soared an bankruptcies have as well.
Corporate profits are high, true, but what does that have to do with "most other people?"
The truth is you may be doing better, but society, as a whole, is not better off.
If I and 9 others all made $50K in the 90s, and I now make a million, and they make nothing, on average, we're all doing twice as good.
Averages don't tell the story, and grossly unequal distribution of the wealth means that most people aren't doing better.

The Dow hit 13,900 for the first time in history Friday. Even if you don't own stocks, but are a member of a retirement fund it is goods news for you.

The economy isn't horrible. It's a lie told by Liberals to the uneducated, in the hopes of winning elections, by using the ignorant, and those unwilling to find the truth for themselves. Most voter's aren't involved in politics enough to know what issues they vote on, or what a candidate they vote for claims to stand up for, or even the promises he makes. Sad, but true. How else do you think we got Bill Clinton for president twice?!

Something is rocking.
It isn't my party's job to cheer when a Republican is successful, so don't expect it. You also won't get sedition or other such nonsense against any of our elected representatives.
I sure do appreciate it, however, and individually I'm cheering for the success of our country. Whatever is being done to make it happen, keep doing it, folks.

er... why didn't you mention all the bad stuff?
record forclosures?
record debt?
and low intrest rates are a bad thing... they are low to stimulate spending... if it was on fire they would be high to cool down the market...
these things don't occur in the "best economy in the USA"
it would seem that you are doing well... and those you know are all doing well too...
but it seems there are those that are doing poorly... and those around them are doing poorly...
in other words... the rich are at all time highs...
and the poor are struggling... they don't invest... and inflation is going up... I don't think it's a record lows last time I checked...
http://inflationdata.com/inflation/Inflation_Rate/HistoricalInflation.aspx
truth is... things are ok... but everyone isn't experiencing the "good economy" as many I know did in the 90s...

Hey Genius,
I will say what I want about Bush and he has done nothing for me. You need to get into the real world. Obviously there are many areas of this country you have not visited. Sorry....I don't see all the robust........unless you happen to work for Halliburton and I hear it is doing very very well. Little blood on the money doesn't hurt too bad does it? Some soldier dying for the mighty Bush ego....hey he enlisted....right?????? Bush is a plague on the USA and he needs impeachment. I would rather be flat broke the rest of my life than have the river of blood that has run because of your hero. Lies, mismanagement, incompetence, riding roughshod over the will of the people......yea, good moral man. There are a lot of areas that you need to go to. The foreclosure rate is higher than ever before. Fast foods are hiring more daily and people are building huge careers if they get moved up to fries.
I have been working since I was 15, put myself thru college while working full time. I work every day and sometimes up to 60 hours a week. I do okay but I know plenty that do not do okay. I had to move 1000 miles away from home to get a decent job.
The USA had to borrow from China to pay for this huge tax cut for the wealthy and for this war in Iraq. At some point it will have to be repaid to them. Who exactly do you think will do that? 363 TONS of cash went into Iraq and no accountability for it. The government contracts are no bid....meaning they are awarded to whoever they want to have them and money is squandered like no tomorrow. Who do you think will pay for all that? Elves and Santa? Yep corporations are making record profits....Halliburton profit line is up 800%. Should just make you all warm inside.....even with the blood of American soldiers on the money. Bush sucks.
For your information, my mortgage is paid off, I have no other debts other than $300.00 on one credit card. You, however have your head so far up your behind that the John Deere company could not pull it out if they hooked every tractor they make to it. You are typical Bushbot....you distort reality to suit you. Drive down south sometime, Virginia, East Tennessee.....ask them what happened to their jobs. Little towns that once had lots of factories, they are sitting vacant and the jobs gone. Not everybody is in financial la la land like you sir. You are probably a Halliburton employee.

think of all the things bad that Bush has done. the war in Iraq, his amnesty bill, the No Child Left Behind act. all those things and more outweigh the little good that he has done.

bombs away, is "why aren't you over there" the only argument you have?
As for the economey, YEP, Libs make excuses for the success cause they can't accept someone outdid their golden boys 10,000 djia. So they whine and moan hoping someone will take them seriously.
And some have, they've complained the jobs created aren't high paying ones. Like the economey is suppose to hand out six figure jobs to anyone and everyone. It's sad they don't realise you have to work to get good paying jobs.
