I got a 92 Toyota Pickup and the AC compressor has gone out.. It is freakin' hot without it, let me tell you! Is it worth it to buy and save $700 trying to put it in myself?

Fine out if any off your family or friends have done this type of job, and know how to do it safely, and have the right tools for the job.
I do not wish to see anyone get hurt working on A/C systems that have not been trained to do this work.
It is always better to pay for the job to be done right the first time, then to lose your eye sight or something worse.

No even if you do put it on yourself the system would still need to be evacuated, requiring it to go to the mechanic. and then charged with the proper amount. Over charging would cause seal leaks and undercharging would cause the system not to work efficeintly. And if you buy a reman compressor be prepaired to replace it within the year, from my experience only buy a NEW compressor.
