FOR JEEPER PEEPER-I am stunned by stupidity of the jeeper-peeper's answer.Serbia was a state ever since 11. century.Find some history books and then come back.Kosovo was part of Serbia ever since 1190.As for that Yugoslavia story of yours,it is normal that Croatia,Macedonia, etc. got independence because they were states, but not Kosovo which is a region, not state. If you don't know an answer to a question, don't say just anything, because you will just turn out stupid. That's my advice for you.HTH:)
Now for the question:Of course you can't ignore Serbia's stance when it is Serbian land we are talking about here. What would happen if you granted independence to Baskia or Texas (more than 50% are Mexicans) or Northern Ireland without considering stance of Spain,U.S.A. and U.K.?Of course, there would be a war.Only now,you think you can bully Serbia around because it is not the power it once was (fourth military power of Europe).Even if you dare to grant Kosovo independence without considering Serbia's opinion, you will have a lot problems with Serbian allies Russia and China.

It grew to become right into a incorrect theory to deliver this question right here it is crammed with Slavic human beings, i'm for basically reason they resisted and that they won this indipendence. yet another certainty is that Kosovo is an Albanian land that Serbia took in 1913 helped via the super powers. Serbia left Montenegro it is a Slavic land and pretends Kosovo, that's humorous, human beings can talk and say what they prefer however the certainty is yet another. Marija, Albanians of Albania are very indifferent and much less patriotic and what you're asserting is the main ridiculous element, we've not at all concept this sort of element.

Kosovo is part of Serbia. Always has been!
I think it is between Kosovo and Serbia, much as if California wanted to break away from the US! What do you think our response would be?

No, not directly. There should be a war for about 24 months, and a treaty shall be signed after 24 month between the two factions to define the political entities' boundary.

Well Serbia wasn't even a country 10 years ago.
It was just a region of Yugoslavia.
So it is not like Kosavo belongs to Serbia.
Other regions of Yugoslavia were granted independence after Yugoslavia broke up.
Including Serbia.
So why shouldn't Kosavo be granted full independence.
