I just put my long airstone in last night, i buried it under the rocks and the bubbles come right up from it, so the bubbles come right up to the top/ The reason why I'm saying this is before I put that it, the tank was ok, now I got up this morning and the water was a little cloudy. There arent any signs of algae or anything. So could this just be a sign of cycling. I'm not into chemicals. So many experts pn here say dont even worry about it. So I;'m just wondering if my tank is cycling possibley. I just set it up thursday, so suggestions would help. Thanks.

If the cloudy water is whiteish you are most likely looking at an aerobic bacteria bloom caused by the extra oxygen in the water, very fine air bubbles, or, like stated before, gunk hanging in the water from disturbing the gravel. If you 'really' want to know more about where in the cycle your tank is, water testing should be done. Test for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Refer to the chart on this web page (http://www.firsttankguide.net/cycle.php) and while you are there, might want to check out what else he has to say about the bio cycle.
However... If the water is a green tint, that's a whole different animal altogether. Look here for a bit of info: http://www.drhelm.com/aquarium/cloudy%20water.html

Hi no its not cycling it could be debris from the airstone and you might want to change the water again its a simple easy process next time you might want to rinse the airstone under cold tap water for 1hour to remove any debris.
The cycling process is made done by the ammonia from swimming fishes waste and after a while green algae will start to form. Then you can add your sucker-mouth catfish.
Hope this helps

If there is ammonia in the tank it has begun cycling. If there isn't, it can't be. You haven't mentioend what's in the tank yet.
Cloudiness is normal in new tanks, and it is nothing to worry about, and good for you for avoiding chemicals, they only make things worse. Make sure you test regularly for ammonia so it doesn't rise high enough to kill your fish, and feel free to do partial water changes to help clear the cloudiness quicker, and make sure you do partial water changes if you detect ammonia higher then .5 or so.
