in Louisana banning late term abortion?

Jamie S.-I am no fool, I understand that not all Liberals agree with late term abortion. They think that it is wrong. What I want to know is how do you think the extreme Left will feel. The die hard Liberals, the ones that will fight to the death to say that a fetus is not a infant, child, human untill it is born. That is what I am asking. I personally would not have one, but who am I to tell someone else who is within the first trimester what they can or cannot do with their own bodies. Think about that.

Well put John Doe 1-I agree with you about the Sex Education classes and contraseptives. We need to get the word across to the teenagers in America that abstinence is the 1st way to prevent pregancy, but if you are still going to have sex at least use protection. Great Answer.

I have no issue with it at all, dear.

What I have issues with is the conservative stupidity and resistance to universal access to contraception and comprehensive sex education...with the USA having the HIGHEST TEEN PREGNANCY RATE ON THE PLANET!!!!!!

They're either following the law, or challenging the law.

Without having read the law, I can't give a legal opinion on whether it meets the Casey standard, even as modified by the recent Supreme Court rulings.

But that's the nature of the debate, and the current status of the laws. Some restrictions are allowed, and some restrictions are not allowed.

Generally, once a fetus has reached the point of independent viability, abortion is no longer an option because there is a better alternative. The entire point of the right to choose is that a person can determine whether or not they participate in the pregnancy process -- in other words, whether the woman gives of her body to benefit another. That must be voluntary.

Once a fetus has reached viability, it can survive without contribute of life support by the mother, so there is no reason to terminate the fetus -- the pregnancy (involvement of the mother) can be terminated by taking the fetus out and allowing it to continue growing in an incubator.

I'm fine with it late term is in my mind not right.
early-term is the mothers choice but after the fetus has developed the ability to hear and react to music and the environment outside the womb. That means the brain is working and to me indicates a life.

It probably depends on their intensity of political belief (ie FAR left wing, or mildy liberal)

Idk for sure, I cant think the way liberals do, but im not a conservative in the traditional sense either. Im more of a libertarian ( 2 republicans, 1 democrat, 3 anarchists, shake well, and there is the libertarian party lol)

I am a liberal but I think this is awesome. I don't believe in abortion but I do believe in the right to choice. I don't believe however that late term abortion should be a choice. The baby is a baby by that time and if you ask me lat term abortion is murder plain and simple.

FYI, they only banned a specific form of the procedure, the dilation/extraction method. This specific form is also what was addressed by the Supreme Court recently.

they think any saving of life except those that kill the innocent is a set back. Its strange how these pro choice people want the head of the guy who CHOSE to blow up an abortion clinic.

But the decision doesn't specify quality of life. If continuing a pregnancy would mean that a women's future reproductive health is compromised (i.e. she can't get pregnant anymore), then what has the "pro-life" movement gained? I thought they liked babies.

I don't know but I hope you're actually paying attention to the answers you're getting.. Your question makes it obvious that you have a skewed view of how liberals actually feel about the abortion issue..
