I asked this question a week ago, and Yahoo shut it down. I got an answer from a German woman who said that George W. Bush was a pawn of the Neo-Nazis. She said that he was unimportant, except for the fact that these Germans were trying to destroy the US by running us into bankruptcy and that we would destroy the Middle East and Israel in the process.

I am as confused as anyone else on this. I was watching TV when it happened. I thought that everything was too well orchestrated. The cameras were all set up to see the planes from the best angles. Then, within 10 minutes, the "terrorists" were flashed on the screen. I pondered, "How could the government be so stupid as to not stop these guys before this happened, and yet...in 10 minutes, they know exactly who they are." It makes no sense to me.

This German wonan's response has troubled me. I know that Prescott Bush, George W. Bush's father sent money to Hitler. He was a Nazi sympathizer. The apple usually does not fall very far from the tree.

Joby...obviously you do not read very accurately. I am not a "leftist." I simply do not know the answer to this, and I would like to get an intelligent response. So many people on Yahoo demonstrate their lack of comprenhension by name calling.

Richard V...I read the New York Times article. The very first thing I thought when I saw those towers collapse was "This looks like insurance fraud. I bet those buildings were filled with asbestos. It would have cosyt hundreds of millions of dollars to remove it." I work in real estate in Dallas and I have seen so many guys burn down their own properties to get insurance money.

Consider this "coincidence":
The same man that wrote in an essay in 1998: Describing the consequences of a large attack on the WTC-"Like Pearl Harbor, this event would divide our past and future into a before and after. The United States might respond with draconian measures, scaling back civil liberties, allowing wider surveillance of citizens, detention of suspects, and
use of deadly force."
Was also the primary author of the final draft of NSS 2002 which stated-"Given the goals of rogue states and terrorists, the United States can no longer rely on a reactive posture...We cannot let our enemies strike first...To forestall or prevent such hostile acts by our
adversaries, the U.S. will, if necessary, act preemptively."
This same person, Phillip Zelikow, was put in charge of the 9/11 Commission's investigation, despite vehement opposition by the 9/11 Family Steering Committee who said that he "should never have been permitted to be Executive Staff director of the Commission," and as such set the agenda for what questions would be asked and what issues would be addressed by the 9/11 Commission.
Last year the Oral Histories of emergency responders on 9/11 was released with some very disturbing testimonies.
Ed Cachia -- Firefighter (F.D.N.Y.) [Engine 53]
"It actually gave at a lower floor, not the floor where the plane hit, because we originally had thought there was like an internal detonation explosives because it went in succession, boom, boom, boom, boom, and then the tower came down. With that everybody was just stunned for a second or two, looking at the tower coming down."
Interview, 12/06/05, New York Times
Frank Campagna -- Firefighter (F.D.N.Y.) [Ladder 11]
"There was nobody in the intersection, nobody in the streets in general, everyone just saying come on, keeping coming, keep coming. That's when [the North Tower] went. I looked back. You see three explosions and then the whole thing coming down. I turned my head and everybody was scattering. From there I don't know who was who. I don't even know where my guys went. None of us knew where each other were at at that point in time."
Interview, 12/04/01, New York Times
Craig Carlsen -- Firefighter (F.D.N.Y.) [Ladder 8]
"I guess about three minutes later you just heard explosions coming from building two, the south tower. It seemed like it took forever, but there were about ten explosions. At the time I didn't realize what it was. We realized later after talking and finding out that it was the floors collapsing to where the plane had hit.
You did hear the explosions [when the North Tower came down]. Of course after the first one -- the first one was pretty much looking at in like in awe. You didn't realize that this was really happening because you kind of just stood there and you didn't react as fast as you thought you were going to. The second one coming down, you knew the explosions. Now you're very familiar with it."

You have personally seen people burn down their own property in an insurance scam? I don't think that is the case. Rather, what you mean is that the authorities investigated the issue and found that they did it themselves.
So, the same thing here. The authorities investigated it and found that a bunch of Al Queda terrorists hijacked planes and flew them into the towers.
Ah, you don't believe it? Then why do you believe that people burned down their property for insurance money?
In other words, why are you so sure that in one case there is a conspiracy and in the other case you just accept what you are told?
And here is another point to ponder: How many of those people who were in insurance scams and burnt down their properties decided to hire someone to hijack a plane and fly it into the building on a suicide run?

The US Navy.
Not directly but indirectly.
In the 1967 6 day war. The US Navy shelled the Bin Laden Bank in Beirut. Osama swore to get revenge.
Apealing to the world Court would have worked better in the long run.

Well, I believe 16 ticked off Islamofascists took control of four jetliners, crashed two into the WTC, then one into the Pentagon, and crashed another in a PA field after the passengers on the planes rose up to try and stop them. But, I am a conspiracy nut.

Technically terrorists did this reguardless of who was pulling their strings. (pay no attention to the man behind the curtain)
Unfortunately we may never know the truth of who the "man behind the curtain" was/is. I do believe our government was involved. I do believe that Al Queda was involved. How those two fit together is an entirely new question and I do not know.
