i strongly suggest valerian root. it's great at relieving stress and tension! you can get it over the counter and it's a great sleep aid! if you have one of those "racing minds" or "i can't turn my head off no matter how tired i am" then this will definitely help. you can find at your local grocery store in the pharmacy or herbal remedy section. start off taking 500-1000mgs, 30-45 minutes before you go to bed. now you can get this stuff in capsule form and it's 100% safe (my whole family has been taking it for years and our family doctor actually recommended it) however the only downside is that the more potent the brand your taking the stronger the smell. and this stuff smells AWFUL! but it's worth it. within 5-7 days you should notice a definite change in your sleep.
WARNING! i strongly do not suggest that you take Tylenol PM and booze, in any form or combination. the main ingredient in Tylenol PM and Advil pm, or benadryl for that matter is diphenhydramine. here's what happens when you take it:
You can walk into a drugstore and choose from an array of sleep aids, offered without prescription. The main ingredient of over-the-counter sleeping pills is an antihistamine. Antihistamines are generally taken for allergies, but also make you feel very sleepy. Common over-the-counter sleep medications are Sleep-Eze, Sominex, Nytol, and Unison; they contain antihistamines such as:
diphenhydramine hydrochloride,
diphenhydramine citrate, or
doxylamine succinate.
In general, over-the-counter sleep medications are not a good choice because they:
Are not intended for long-term use.
Interfere with mental alertness during the day, so you should avoid driving and other similar tasks. You may also be at risk for falling asleep
Reduce the quality of your sleep by reducing time you spend in deep sleep.
Use over-the-counter sleep medications only for transient or short-term insomnia and in conjunction with changes to your sleeping habits. Be sure to pay attention to your body’s physical response to these sleep medications.
also look at the links on the website i've listed they have some good remedies!
I hope this helps!
congrats on getting married and good luck!

Do you find yourself trawling the internet late at night for things for your wedding? Well that is bad for you, you should stop at 7 pm and make a list with pen and paper and do the rest tomorrow. Only spend 5 minutes doing this, then take a nice long bath. Watch a bit of tv or listen to some soothing music (not heavy rock or pop) but something that will bore you so silly you will want to go to bed.
Do you drink alcohol to sleep? That is not good either, try taking some hot chocolate or milky drink, even a milk shake if the weather is too hot for a hot drink. Or try herbal tea which is very soothing and relaxing and has no calories.
Take a clean sheet of paper and a pen to bed with you and if you think of anything write it down, and try not to think about it until morning.
When you snuggle down to go to sleep, take some oil of lavendar and sprinkle it on a tissue and put it under your pillow, that is also very soothing. If you still feel tense when you go to bed, lie flat on your back and tense the muscles in your face, like screw up your face, hold it for a few seconds then let it relax. Do this with your arms and hands, stretch them out and tense them for a few seconds, then let them go. Do this with all your body from top to toe, and you will feel nice a relaxed.
All the best for your wedding. Just try not to go past the 7 pm rule, as you will needlessly cause yourself to be pent up about the wedding, and by the time it comes round, you cold be a wreck or exhausted. You want to look your very best on that day.
Keep practicing this routine as it does work.
Best wishes for your wedding and your future happiness. God bless you.

This should be a really special, exciting and fun time for you, so I'm wondering why you are feeling so stressed that you can't sleep? Anxious and a bit apprehensive about how the day will go - yes, I can understand that.
I am a Bach Flower Therapist and it might be worth trying Bach Flower Rescue Remedy. Carry a bottlle around with you and keep one by your bed. The Bach Flower Remedies are a very safe and natural treatment for all types of emotions. Mimulus is the one I would suggest for fear of known things. These flower essences can be given quite safetly to children and animals too. You can buy the single remedies, like Mimulus, from Health Food Shops like Holland and Barratt, who also stock the Bach Flower Rescue Remedy. You can buy either the dropper bottle or the spray bottle of this from Boots Chemist, most supermarkets like Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's or Holland and Barratt. 4 drops in a little water and sip at intervals when at home or at work, or take 4 drops directly on the tongue (if you don't mind the taste) at least 4 times a day, more if you like. With the spray bottle you only need 2 sprays each time and again, at least 4 times a day. If you really don't like the taste you can spray or drop the remedy on the pulse points of your wrists. It is absorbed throught the skin and works very well that way. There is a tiny amount of grape alcohol in the bottles just as a preservative.
For sleeplessness try Badger Sleep Balm. It comes in a little round purple topped tin with a sleeping badger picture on it and smells lovely - looks a bit like lip balm (but please don't put it on your lips). It cost me £3.95, and Sainsbury's definitely have it on their pharmacy, which is where I bought mine. Again, it has natural ingredients and is safe to use. You put it on the pulse points on your wrists, neck, forehead and behind your ears and it is very calming. I'm sorry I don't know where else you can get this from, but on my tin the details are: Badger Sleep Balm. A calming sleep enhancer. 21g. from Grafton International Ltd. B77 5PT. UK..
I hope you have a really beautiful day and wish you so much happiness. xx

What causes people to have difficulty sleeping?
* Stress
* Noise
* Extreme temperatures
* Side effects from medication
* Excessive amounts of caffeine
* Smoking cigarettes before bedtime
* Drinking alcohol before bedtime
* Expecting to have difficulty sleeping and worrying about it
* Irregular sleeping habits
* Excessive exercise close to bedtime
Nutritional supplements such as Primee Dreamz might be an alternative solution to a good night sleep.
Key Ingredients:
Magnesium
Magnesium deficiency is sometimes associated with frequent nocturnal awakenings.
Passion flower
Passion flower has a long history of use for symptoms of restlessness, mood disorders or emotional problems
Chamomile
Chamomile has been used for centuries to treat insomnia and for its calming and sedative effects that are attributed to the flavonoids, including apigenin, which acts as a lignan for the central benzodiazepine receptors.
Melatonin
Melatonin is a neurohormone produced in the brain by the pineal gland. The synthesis and release of melatonin are stimulated by darkness and suppressed by light, suggesting the involvement of melatonin in circadian rhythm and regulation of diverse body functions.

Have you tried to narrow down what you are stressed about?
Are you having misgivings about the marriage or groom?
Is it just all the wedding plans? That's a one-time event.
If the former, talk with your minister & future partner.
If the latter, get helpers & delegate the responsibilities.
Or did you do that & having trouble with mother or matron?
There are people who will do all the arrangements for you.
But of course they tend to charge something for that.
I always say simpler is better; don't try to overdo things.
This is your special day; try to relax & enjoy it.
Breathe deeply & slowly for 5 minutes, when tense.
If you can afford it, try a day at a spa, maybe someone could give it to you.

In the short term, I'd go with generic benedryl (an allergy medication). It is cheap (the generic versions), effective, and non-addictive. Generic = diphenhydramine. Available at any WalMart, Walgreens, Eckered, etc.
Congrats on your wedding, and go get some sleep!
Hang in there,
~M~

sounds to me your not ready for it...call it off, you were coerced into this weren't you?...
The whole mariage thing is a trap, the woman is taught to plan that from day one...
Marriage should be a mutual desire...not a trap you feel obligated to fullfill because she gave you an ultimatum...besides, it's only a legal thing...if it were blessed by god in his holy temple, then christians would have a greater success rate than everyone else...but they don't...the odds are the same....60% are doomed to failure...
