I had taken a friend to the hospital to have a procedure done. I was in the waiting room watching Good Morning America when the first reports of a fire a the World Trade Center came in.

When they said that an airplane had struck the building, I was very doubtful because I knew that it must be a no fly zone, as I have worked at an airport.

I saw for myself the live footage of the 2nd plane heading straight toward the 2nd tower. At that time, I simply said, out loud even, "that looks like a 767, what the hell is it doing there.

I watched in stunned disbelief as it flew into the tower. At that moment, I knew it was a terrorist attack, and the range of emotion and the chills up my spine would be difficult to express here. More and more people gathered around the television, and reports of a plane striking the Pentagon, and missing flights started rolling in.

It is a moment frozen in time for all of eternity.

God bless all of those that perished that day, all of those that survived, and all of those who are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan to rid the world of terror.

God Bless America.

I was at work.

I'd just bathed a lady and was taking the towels to the laundry when I passed one of the rooms. The occupant and downstairs carer were glued to her TV, the carer looked up and called me in.

I leaned over the lady's chair just as the first tower fell ... then they showed the plane crashing into the tower. I was puzzled and asked what the film was called.

"It's not a film, it's real .... it's happening now in New York."

I watched for a few minutes then rushed into the office and asked the boss and senior if they'd heard any news .... They hadn't but went straight for the nearest TV.

I had to go back upstairs when I got up I shouted to Andrew (team leader) to put the television on, something was happening.

"What channel?"
"I don't think it matters." We only had four to choose from and I was pretty certain it would be on all of them.

Andrew, Lorraine and I sat in the lounge with the residents and watched the coverage for an hour. We had to tell some of them it was a film because they started to get upset, they thought they were back in the war.

I got home and wrote in my diary .....'This is a day that won't be forgotten for a long time.' I was right, we haven't.

Yes, in Britain, we grew up with terrorism from the IRA but they always gave warnings, things had just gone up several levels. Now, America had had its first major terrorist attack. The world would never be the same again.

I was in Disney World - we were waiting to go on the 'Honey I Blew Up the Audience' Ride when someone made an announcement that the park was closing and we all had to leave. They wouldn't tell us why but told us to go back to our hotels and switch on the TV. On the way to the ride, my husband had seen a tv in one of the other attractions and it showed the plane crashing into the tower - because we were in Disney World, he didn't know what to make of it and presumed it wasn't real and was a film. He mentioned it to one of the cast members outside the attraction and he said he couldn't talk about it - this immediately made us suspicious so when the announcement came to close the park, we guessed what had happened.

It was very surreal, we went back to our hotel and everybody was gathered in the lobby watching tv. We joined a cruise ship at the weekend and it was half empty because people wouldn't travel. There was a great deal of security at the airport for our flight home.

It was such a monstrous thing to do - I've since been to Ground Zero, I had been to the top of the tower and in a strange way, needed to see that it wasn't there - it was very moving and sad.

In Cleveland Ohio after having just flown in from NY that morning. I'm a flight attendant, as I was walking into my apartment my phone started ringing and I sat down then turned on the the tv. I can't describe how I felt. A week later I was flying families there to look for their family members who they couldn't contact. I can't find words to describe that either or the sight of flying back.

At work, on the phone, trying 2 collect $$$ on a medical bill. The person i was calling wanted 2 know how i could be trying 2 get $$$ out of her with what was going on. i got off the phoen & let my bosses know what she had said. When they found out what was going on, we were sent home. I watched the news the rest of the day & felt helpless as i watched the towers go down. i cried 4 all the lost souls & their loved ones. i couldn't stop hugging my kids & telling them i loved them.

You have to be kidding me don't you! The question does not need an answer as far as most intelligent people are concerned. I'm English and an atheist, although what my religious belief has to do with it I don't know. The holocaust, which included a lot of other people besides Jews, was carried out by Germans NOT Europeans, please be precise.

I had just walked into work and I heard the news on the radio. I remember telling myself "Get ready, man, the Army gonna need you over there!" I was more than willing to go back if I was asked too. Lately this war has gotten out of hand though.
