I ordered a Logitech webcam online, assuming it came with the installation cd rom, but it doesn't. I asked my computer to search for it, but can't find it. How can I install my webcam?? I don't want to have to order a cd and wait two more weeks to get it. Can I download it free online anywhere?

Any techno-minded people out there? HELP!!

Go to http://www.logitech.com/ and download what you need.

1) Read the instructions.

2) Plug it in. Your PC will probably recognize that there is a new device added and will automatically set it up or ask you to install a driver or other software.

3) If asked to install a driver or other software, go to the Logitech website and select Support & Downloads. Select your camera and your operating system (XP, VISTA, etc.) and the software will download. Follow the instructions!

Good luck!

Hi -

You didn't provide your computing platform (windows/ Mac) - or - the model number of your camera. You can however, download the factory software and drivers from the Logitech website at the following address.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/downloads/&cl=us,en

Cut and paste the above address into your browser, selct the model number and download. The model number is either on the box, the back/underside og the camera,or possibly on the tag attached to the USB cable. As an example, QuickCam PRo 4000.

Remember. unplug and keep the camera unplugged until the software installation program (the one you will download) - asks yuo to plug it in. At that point - plug the camera into the computer.

Regards

Len

you should still use it even without the software, now days most webcams can be recognized without software, just open My Computer, and see if there is a link to your webcam, if there is, then it is already installed. if you really want the software from logitech just go to their website and find the picture of your webcam and download the software for it.

Never assume anything online. U can only assume if add says new in box still sealed.
Ur going to have to do excatly what u don't want to do. Go to logitech and purchase software cd. But, logitech may have a free download for the drivers for ur cam which may get u up and running now till ur cd comes, its a long shot but go see.here's the link;

Have you tried plugging the webcamera to your computer yet? Sometimes, webcam can be auto detected and installed. You have to wait like a minute to see if your computer will actually detect and install it.

Is there no CD comes with the package at all? What is the model of your webcam? Is there a user manual?

I have inserted the link to go to. You will need to download your cam driver and then install it. Then restart your computer plug in the web can and it should work. But the site that I am sending you will also help you install it and give you step by step instructions on install.

If all else fail, try AMCAP.
