NICE QUESTION...They are Boulders, that have lived.

Depends on what or who is looking at it. To a flea a pebble is a boulder. To me its a bit of dirt to be swept out the door.
A boulder to a flea may be a different land. To me its a good looking rock in a setting.
But as to what it actually is? A pebble is part of a rock which in turn is part of a boulder that at one time was a section of moulton mass material. Given enough time in the enviroment, this pebble will turn to sand an eventually dust.

If pebbles dream...they dream of being boulder. To be back in the form that didn't get pushed down the river, or kicked on the side of the road. In this way it would be able to ponder the rest of eternity, the weather...lucky boulders.

No. Pebbles also weigh a lot less.

Pebbles are small boulders, which also weigh less (they have less mass).
