jess,
OK, that was said by the Iraqi Pm. BUT, you also have to include the remainder of his talk.
He said that the Iraqi police need more training and are not ready yet. He said that the security that American forces provide is needed for a while longer.
Does that sound like he said that the Iraqis are ready now? They can handle it now? No, of course not. Bush cabal spin? None needed to counter this announcement.

May I have a link please, I'm interested in this story.
~EDIT~
Okay, here's my take. The Iraqi PM didn't ask us to leave. He is simply responding to pressure from Capitol Hill to withdraq troops. Sort of like when you get dumped by a girl and to save face you shout
"Well fine then, go! I don't need you anyway!"
That being said, the U.S. has always stated that it is a liberation force, not an occupational force and would leave immediately if asked to by the Iraqi government.
I agree, if we are not wanted we should go.

Forget about it. President Bush won't leave until he has the Iraqi oil for his father's oil import company. Oh, you did know that George Senior has been in the oil business since he left the white house, right?

Did your mommy teach you to read only the first little part of a story? You might want to go back and read the whole thing before you make more of a fool out of yourself.

I say let's make like hockey players and get the puck out of there.
But Bush's Masters, "The Saudi's," aren't to let him leave Iraq. Too much oil they will not have control over.

The US government is NEVER leaving Iraq. Did you see the size of the oil observatory, I mean, embassy that they are building in the Green Zone.
That name - GREEN ZONE, is so fitting. The defense and oil industries are going to rake in mountains of cash from Iraq.
