I had severe cramps as a teen too. I would miss school sometimes b/c of it. I never did anything but take strong pain killers, use a heat pad, and assume the fetal position. I have heard that severe cramping can indicate endometriosis, cysts, or something else that may be wrong with your uterus. But I want to assure you , that even though I had severe cramping as a teen, I haven't really since I turned 21. I have had my yearly exams, and my Gyn has never found anything to indicate anything abnormal.
So hopefully you will grow out of it. Perhaps your Dr can prescribe a painkiller for you.

I get severe cramps myself, and sometimes they're so painful I pass out. From my experience, once the cramps have started, medicines won't do much. It's best to take your painkillers first thing in the morning, and throughout the day in the increments given on the label.
Once the cramps have hit, you'll just have to wait them out. I've found they usually go away after a nap. I know it's very difficult to sleep when you're writhing in pain, but if you just try to relax and lie still, you'll go to sleep and wake up feeling much better. It also helps to get down on your hands and knees and let your abdomen hang loose. Sometimes I've been able to walk a cramp off. Also--I know this is embarrassing, but it's true--you can relieve cramps by having an orgasm. It dilates the blood vessels in your pelvic area, which increases blood flow to your uterine muscles and helps them relax. Only do that if you're comfortable with it, of course.

I think Midol and heating pads are a great idea. I also recommend drinking Raspberry leaf tea, it really worked for me. Try to move around, it will not lessen the pain, but may make the cramping end sooner.

I would go to your doctor. Eat a banana; it helps! It does! Don't take any medication until you talk to your doctor; this could be really bad. I personally don't know if really bad cramps are just bad luck or if they are a symptom of something else... but please see your doctor! He could prescribe even over the counter pain relivers that would help you and if it's something serious they will find out.

Try using a heating pad. If its really bad you might want to try going to an immediate care center or the ER.

an old fashioned remedy is gin and slimline tonic. The gin(mother's ruin) will help ease the pain and one bottle of slimline tonic has enough quinnine in it to stop the cramp
