Because the Dem's politicians are basically elitists.THEY and they alone, are the ONLY ones who can manage the poor stupid masses of citizens yearning for some one to "help" them and tell them what they need to do to get what everyone else has.....
..The Dem's want a socialistic form of government that will mandate tolerance,or acceptance of whatever THEY (the elite) decide is "good"....Rich (never defined) people are evil and will be forced to support the less fortunate/struggling people. Corporations will be "managed" such that their revenue will also be sucked into government coffers.
...Capitalism ,the idea that individuals must assume responsibility for their "life style", and a obsessive need to be admired or viewed as a savior for all problems are just a few things. The worst, however is their absurd belief that the
world must return to its previous state where by which everyone "loved" the USA.
...The" problems" we are having with the bad guys (criminals ,or poor upset terrorists) can be
"managed" simply by providing "aid " packages and other "assistance" to help them see that their dislike or desire to kill, maim, eradicate is simply "not acceptable".
...Dem's refuse to believe that there really is a "right or wrong", evil or good, predator/killer instead of a mentally sick person in need of therapy... Laws are subject to whatever they decide or re-define (i.e. illegal alien is morphed into a hard working immigrant with good character/work ethic..//terrorists are common criminals , enemy combatants are entitled /should be allowed to tie up the judicial system with a trial instead of held as a POW..
.....The Dems are mostly self centered, self serving and obsessed with a belief that their vision of "life" is an absolute necessity. As long as they can get the poor stupid masses to buy in to free XXx or cradel to grave service then they have a forum...
...The inability to nothing except wasting time producing "points" ,statements of disagreement, ordering up "reports/data/investigations...etc" is a righteous distraction that eliminates the need to actually present a coherent plan, idea, solution...Far to easy to pratlle on about the have/have nots/need for gay "recognition", complain about racial discrimination even tho its easier for a minority to get into college than a white American, invest/start up the new alternate fuel corporations, manufacturing co all the while ranting that the USA must ....even tho China, India & others will never comply, demand that political solutions will solve everything (like the UN???or maybe they mean just bribe the bad guys...)
..The DEM's in congress want to retain their perk filled jobs and then like now, fight over how they will distribute the wealth and power... with their vision..there will be little wealth (as the "rich" will have no incentive to create jobs/profits if they are taxed to death, everyone will revolt when "told' that simple citizens get "x" allotment of..x,x,x, and America the land of the free where opportunity to fail or succeed exists will no longer exist.

According to which poll? Congress as a whole is averaging in the mid 20's across several polls. However Fox News has the Dem's at over 30% and Harris has Pelosi at 34% (Bush is at 26% and the republicans are at 21% in the same poll). Before you criticize Harris as being liberal, they and Fox both have the dems in congress at 31%.

A. There are still Republicans in the Congress.
B. When asked to describe the issue on which they think Congress has most faileds, the majority of citizens said 'Iraq'.

Now, considering that only about 40% think we should even be in Iraq, I'm concluding that the majority of those disapproving of Congress are either the 40% who want to stay, or the 60% who want us out. Because Congress hasn't got us out, but they certainly aren't trying to keep us in either.

It's because the democrats in congress can't do anything against Bush since he'll veto the bills anyway. The people want a congress that runs the nation over the president, which is impossible due to the rules set up in the constitution.

Because the numbers are still changing. Bush is steadily dropping in ratings. Congress is steadily increasing.

Congress's ratings we simply that much worse than Bush prior to the mid-term election (because of what the Republicans in Congress had done), that Congress has not recovered yet.

I think because all politicians are maggots. You have to be to want the job. They are power hungry maggots, like Hillary. I don't think Bush is a power hungry person, though. I just think he is stupid on the verge of being semi-retarded.
