a. P(L)
= 52 / 220
= 13 / 55

b. P(E)
= 80 / 220
= 4 / 11

c. P(E U L) = P(E) + P(L) - P(E & L)
= 80/220 + 52/220 - 22/220
= 110 / 220
= 1 / 2

d. Number on the lakeshore without electricity : 52 - E&L
= 52 - 22 = 30
So 30/220
= 3 / 22

(a) There are a total of 220 campsites.

Prob at lakeshore = 52 / 220= 13 / 55 (simplified)

(b) There are 80 sites w/ elec.

P(has elec.) = 80 / 220 = 4 / 11

(c)
P(lakesh. or elec) = P(lakesh.) + P(elec) - P(lakesh AND elec)

= 13/55 + 4/11 - 22/220 = 1/2

(d) 30 sites on lakeshore don't have elec.

P = 30 / 220 = 3 / 22

I concur with kyle, except technically I would simplify for best practice, as follows:

a) 52/220 = 13/55
b) 80/220 = 4/11
c) 110/220 = 1/2
d) 30/52 = 15/26

Not always makes a lot of difference, but it looks a little neater ;) (Sorry, I submitted this before noticing the comment above regarding you doing something yourself).

total = 220
elec = 80
shore = 52
shore + elec = 22
shore - elec = 30
-shore + elec = 58

a. 52/220 = .236
b. 80/220 = .364
c Question is ambiguous
(52+58)/220 = 110/220 = .500 (it will have at least one of the two amenities)
OR (58+30)/220 = 88/220 = .400 (it will have one, but not both)
d. 30/220 = .136

a) lakeshore/total --- 52/220
b) electricity/total --- 80/220
c) lakeshore/total + electricity/total - lakeshore with electricity/total --- 52/220 + 80/220 - 22/220
d) lakeshore without electricity/total --- (52-22)/220
I am guessing this is homework so I suggest simplifying it yourself because that is a pretty crucial skill.
